9 Katherine Pierce

Katherine Pierce (Nina Dobrev) was one of Elena’s doppelgängers who appeared throughout the show’s eight seasons. She was a love interest to both Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and had many plans, including destroying the town of Mystic Falls.

Whitmore College professor Wes Maxfield (Rick Cosnett) devoted his academic research to the study of supernatural beings. While this was a normal occurrence, he later wanted to experiment with vampires – trying to redeem the species’ world by turning them against each other.

Wes Maxfield would be a Hufflepuff, similar to Newt Scamander from the Fantastic Beasts movies. Hufflepuffs have an ethic of hard work and patience, which would go hand in hand with a dedication to researching a mythical species. Although he has some Ravenclaw traits such as his intelligence, his loyalty to his craft and the school, he forces him to be sorted into Hufflepuff.

7 Silas

As the husband of Qetsiyah and one of Stefan Salvatore’s first doppelgangers, Silas had one goal: to destroy the other side, where all supernatural beings reside after death, and save his love, Amara (Nina Dobrev).

Resourcefulness, cunning and determination are some of the qualities demonstrated by the Slytherin house, which Silas all has. Esther Mikaelson is the matriarch of the Mikaelson family and an accomplished witch. She had been the one who created the first vampires and changed her children after the loss of one of her sons to keep them all safe. She is a short antagonist in season 3 of the show, responsible for opening a gateway to The Other Side.

While many of the show’s mighty witches can easily be placed in Ravenclaw, Esther can easily be sorted into Hufflepuff. The motivations behind the emergence of vampirism were loyalty and devotion to her family, as she wanted them to be together forever. These are both traits of Hufflepuffs, along with hard work and kindness, which can be seen in flashbacks and in the spin-off, The originals.

4 Kai Parker

Considered one of the show’s worst villains, Kai Parker was the season 6 antagonist. He was a powerful warlock and siphoner who forcibly merged with his twin sister, Josette, after killing his family and coven to become the leader of to become the Gemini Coven.

Kai is an obvious Slytherin. He is incredibly cunning and manipulates his family, friends and enemies to work for him. Though smart, a trait of Ravenclaws, he is innovative and invents new ways to achieve his ambitions to become the dominant twin brother and leader of the coven.

3 Arcadius

As the final villain in Season 8, Arcadius was the epitome of The Vampire Diaries of the devil, nicknamed Cade. He had been someone who was mistreated in the past, so he wanted to punish those with dark secrets.

Though the motives of his punishments were questionable, Arcadius would be sorted into Hufflepuff. He has a friendly demeanor when not terrorizing the sinners and works hard to keep the world peaceful. He has a high dedication to his goals and a high tolerance for those who work for him, such as Sybil and her selfish actions.

2 Rayna Cruz

Season 7’s antagonist, Rayna Cruz (Leslie-Anne Huff), was a vampire hunter who was part of the Brotherhood of Five. This group was dedicated to trapping vampire souls in the Phoenix Stone, a powerful talisman.

During her pursuit of Stefan, she proved to be incredibly smart and astute, using her tactics to capture him and those around him, and showed she was intelligent with her knowledge of the species from her adamant studies with the Brotherhood. Because of these qualities, she ended up in Ravenclaw.

1 Klaus Mikaelson

Klaus Mikaelson, one of the Originals and beloved antagonist, became an ally throughout the show. His goals had been to break a curse hiding his werewolf bloodline and create a hybrid army of vampires.

While many would argue that Klaus is a Slytherin, he has many traits that would place him in Gryffindor. Klaus is a brave and brave man who sacrifices himself for his family while helping to tackle dangers far greater than himself. Though he is a cunning, ambitious person, which are traits of Slytherin, he is confident in himself and his abilities as a vampire-werewolf hybrid, as well as his previous position as King of New Orleans.
