RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season 7 recently ended with Jinkx Monsoon being crowned “The Queen of All Queens”, and while Jinkx faced some seriously stiff competition, her second RuPaul’s Drag Race victory was more than justified. Jinkx joined other previous winners Raja, Yvie Oddly, Jada Essence Hall, Trinity the Tuck, Monét X Change, Shea Couleé and RPDR UK‘s The Vivienne to battle it out for the top prize of $200,000. The season premiered in May, and RPDR All Stars 7 was a hit with fans from the start, mainly because of its new and exciting format.
Instead of using RPDRAs usual when removing lipstick to send home a queen every week, the top two All Stars received a “Legendary Legends” star every week. At the end of the competition, the four most starred queens faced each other in a lip-sync battle to determine the winner. In addition, the queen who won the “Lip-Sync For Your Legacy” battle every week was given the power to prevent a fellow competitor from starring the following week. This could hinder their chances of making it into the top four. In the end, Jinkx van RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars reached the top four alongside Trinity, Monét and Shea. The remaining queens battled it out separately to determine the “Queen of She Done Al Done Had Herses”.
While RPDR season 3 winner Raja ended up walking away with the secondary crown and a cool $50,000, it was Jinkx who won the ultimate title of All stars Season 7. Although fans thought that some queens, such as Raja and Jada, were robbed during the competition, Jinkx was the frontrunner from the start, which is why her eventual win not only makes fans happy, but also makes sense. Here are a few reasons why Jinkx was rightfully chosen as the ‘Queen of all queens’.
Jinkx consistently performed well in challenges
Although Jinkx didn’t finish the competition with the most stars (runner-up Monét came out on top with five), she was blocked twice by her fellow queens, while her competitors were blocked only once. Despite this, Jinkx won most of the main challenges, with five wins. She also won the most Lip-Sync For Your Legacy fights, with three wins. Or the All stars Queens were tasked with improvising skits, performing rehearsed acting scenes or giving public speeches, Jinkx always found a way to come out on top. In fact, Jinkx was only shown to wrestle legitimately during the show’s infamous sewing challenge.
Judy Garland’s impression of Jinkx made Snatch game history
There are a few main challenges that: RPDR fans look forward to every season, with the most anticipated being Snatch Game. The All Stars had to pose as famous celebrities and played two games with different characters. While Jinkx’s first pick, Natasha Lyonne, was impressive, it was her Judy Garland impression that was quickly hailed as the best Snatch Game performance in its history. Between her well-timed jokes, creepy singing, and acknowledging her season 5 makeover partner Dave, it will be practically impossible for any future queen to play a better Judy Garland than Jinkx.
Jinkx always stayed true to herself (and her brand)
Self-described as an internationally tolerated theatrical single mother, Jinkx’s chaotic yet endearing personality has won her millions of fans since her appearance on RPDR season 5. Although Jinkx has been underrated in the past, her unique twist on challenges, runway looks and lip syncing always shows her undeniable charisma, uniqueness, guts and talent. Between choosing a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for a TikTok dance party, or telling a story about being hit by a car in a “draguation” speech, Jinkx always continues to put her own personal spin on things. Here’s Why She Earned Her “Queen of All Queens” Award on RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season 7.
