Assassin’s Creed Valhallas 1.6.0 update has arrived, with the long-awaited Forgotten Saga DLC that is free for all players. Announced last month by Ubisoft, the Forgotten Saga introduces a roguelike mode to Walhalla, featuring players who step into the shoes of the Norse god Odin as he journeys to the alien realm of Niflheim. Players must face overwhelming odds and complete challenges over several runs to take on Hela, the Norse goddess of death, and save Odin’s son Baldr. while recently Assassin’s Creed games were divisive, the addition of the free Forgotten Saga content was highly anticipated and subject to a few requirements; players can now step in and experience it for themselves.

The Forgotten Saga continues: AC Valhalla’s Dawn of Ragnarok expansion stopped and served as a continuation of Odin’s story. Inspired by the increasingly popular roguelike genre, the player must travel to the shadowy depths of Niflheim, explore secret areas, defeat and finally defeat enemies, then return with another run, having built up the knowledge and skills that needed to overcome these new challenges. Unlike previous DLC expansions, the Forgotten Saga is already included in the game’s 1.6.0 update and requires no additional downloads.

Even though players don’t need to have completed AC Valhalla’s DLC campaigns to play the Forgotten Saga, there are a few things players must have done before they can access it. Fortunately, the new mode is largely unrelated to the story of Valhallas protagonist Eivor, these tasks are not particularly difficult to do.

AC Valhalla Everold's Workshop Forgotten Saga Starting Point

The first thing players need to do is progress through Valhalla’s main story campaign. To unlock the Forgotten Saga mode, Eivor must have visited Valhalla for the first time. Some players have already passed this point in the story, but new players may have a long stretch of the story to process before they can access the new content. However, some of AC ValhallaThe least interesting side quests can be avoided.

Once the player has visited Valhalla, he can A gift from the other world quest, in which players must talk to Everold, a newly arrived craftsman in Ravensthorpe. Everold can be found on the outskirts of town on a small camp. When spoken to, a cutscene will play and Everold will construct Everold’s workshop. The player can then search for it there and try out the potion he offers. This allows the player to travel to Niflheim and start the Forgotten Saga.

According to Ubisoft’s official patch notes, there are no power level requirements to access this content, and the gear and extras acquired during Eivor’s journey through England will not be carried over. However, I’d love to AC Valhalla’s Discovery Tour mode, it’s also free, a surprising move considering the amount of content being added. Players can therefore start playing without any problems once they have passed a certain point in the story and have spoken to Everold.
