Eternals introduced a new superhero team to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and in the post-credits scene, another Eternal joined the fun: Eros/Starfox, played by Harry Styles – but when will he next appear in the Multiverse Saga? Marvel announced the series of movies and TV shows of Phase 4, 5, and 6 of the Multiverse Saga, and during its panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, Kevin Feige revealed when Phase 4 ends, the full slate for Phase 5, and three movies from Phase 6, but there are some big names that aren’t currently in those plans.
One of these is the Eternals, whose return has not yet been confirmed, but they are still expected to return in a sequel after their debut film ended on a major cliffhanger. The Eternals are a group of synthetic beings created by the Celestial Arishem the Judge and sent to Earth eons ago to protect her from the Deviants. Once the Deviants were defeated, the Eternals remained on Earth and helped humanity evolve, though they were not allowed to interfere in their conflicts. The Eternals broke up and reunited decades later after the death of their leader, Ajak (Salma Hayek), the return of the Deviants, and the rapid approach of an apocalyptic event called “The Emergence,” which they managed to stop.
At the end of Eternals, Sersi (Gemma Chan), Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry), and Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani) were kidnapped by Arishem to assess their actions and decide if people were really worth saving. Meanwhile, Makkari (Lauren Ridloff), Thena (Angelina Jolie), and Druig (Barry Keoghan) were intercepted on the Domo by Pip the Troll (voiced by Patton Oswalt) and Eros/Starfox, a fellow Eternal, brother of Thanos, and ally to the Eternals because he manages to find the rest of the team. Starfox is established as an important character in the future of Eternalsbut unfortunately he won’t be returning to the MCU anytime soon.
When will Harry Styles’ Starfox return to the MCU?
As mentioned above, the Eternals are not included in Phase 5 of the MCU, but since only three movies have been announced for Phase 6 – Fantastic four, Avengers: The Kang Dynastyand Avengers: Secret Wars –, Eternals 2 could still be included as part of the final phase of the Multiverse Saga, bringing Harry Styles’ Starfox back. Seen how disconnected Eternals feels from the rest of the MCU, especially the other Phase 4 movies and TV shows, and how they haven’t handled the events of the film, it’s hard to tell where Starfox might reappear before that. Eternals 2. It was rumored that Starfox would appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as both teams are part of the cosmic side of the MCU, but James Gunn has already confirmed that Starfox will not appear in the third Guardians of the Universe adventure. However, Starfox will return to the MCU, as confirmed by Feige, who said the “adventures of Eros and Pip“are something”very excitingfor them and that they live on the cosmic side of the MCU, so there’s definitely a place for them.
So far the only movie Starfox could appear in if it isn’t Eternals 2 in phase 6 is the miraclesAs this is also a story from the cosmic side of the MCU, but given how little is known about Starfox, its backstory, its purpose and its role in this connected universe, it’s hard to say what he might do next to Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau. Before starfox and the Eternals Returning to the MCU, this universe needs to address the events of their film and their impact and integrate the characters properly.
