crazy ball – James Maddison may have to wait a bit to leave Leicester City. The Foxes have reportedly rejected an offer from Newcastle United.
Brendan Rodgers’ side have not made a move in the transfer market this summer. On the other hand, Leicester City are now busy keeping hold of a number of key players.
The names of players who are constantly being reported to leave include Youri Tielemans and Wesley Fofana. But they are holding out so far. Most recently, Kasper Schmeichel can withdraw and will continue his football career to Nice.
From the news doing the rounds, Newcastle United actually want Harvey Barnes. The 24-year-old footballer is the main target of the English Premier League team nicknamed The Magpies.
But it was reported Sky Sports, that Newcastle United have turned their attention to James Maddison rather than Barnes. Their seriousness is proven by making an offer of 40 million pounds, equivalent to Rp 721 billion.
But unfortunately Leicester City, who won the 2015/2016 Premier League, chose to ignore the offer. The report explains why The Foxes turned it down because the offer was too low.
James Maddison, who is also one of the key players, is reported to have an expensive sale price. Leicester City set it at 60 million pounds or Rp 1 trillion. Due to the strong interest from Newcastle United, the Leicester City camp will try to keep him by offering a new contract.
James Maddison still has a contract with the Premier League club at the King Power Stadium until June 2024.
The 25-year-old footballer is of course being targeted by Newcastle United. In the 2021/2022 season, Maddison managed to bag 18 goals plus 11 goals in 52 games in all competitions. Can Leicester City keep hold of the versatile midfielder?
