Fans of Red Dead Redemption 2 discussed the setting of a hypothetical follow-up on social media, citing the westernmost part of the United States as a good potential backdrop for future installments of Rockstar’s acclaimed cowboy sandbox series. Red Dead Redemption 2 launched in 2018 and told the harrowing story of Arthur Morgan, a gray Van der Linde mobster on the run from the law in the southern US in the late 1800s. Others have noted that the location was home to some really dark moments in America’s history – and Rockstar may not be willing to tackle a storyline that deals with such morbid subjects. Meanwhile, a few players have suggested places like the Oregon Trail, which is included in the educational Oregon Trail series in the past and served as the backdrop for many historical events that would fit well with the Red Dead Redemption series, as well as Montana and more humorous settings like Tahiti or even Space.
