Dancing With The Stars professional dancer, Daniella Karagach, reacted to her Emmy nomination for Outstanding Choreography for Variety or Reality Programming for two of her iconic dances with her season 30 partner NBA player Iman Shumpert. She is nominated for her choreography for their Horror Night contemporary dance to the song “I Got 5 on It” by Luniz featuring Michael Marshall from the movie Us and their jazz dance to “Dark Fantasy” by Kanye West featuring Iman’s wife Teyana Taylor. They earned their first perfect score of the season for the dance to “I Got 5 on It” after weeks of scores that put them toward the bottom of the leaderboard because Iman had no prior dance training. Daniella and Iman stunned the judges, the audience, and the viewers at home with the incredible acrobatic routine. The dancing partners dressed in red jumpsuits, and the eerie atmosphere of the routine captured the Dancing With The Stars Horror Night theme perfectly.

Although their height difference posed a challenge throughout the season as 6-foot 5-inch Iman towers over 5-foot 5-inch Daniella, in this dance, it worked to their advantage as they mesmerized the audience with Daniella’s captivating choreography which included some of the most amazing lifts in Dancing With The Stars history. This dance propelled Daniella and Iman to the top of the competition, making them the new frontrunners. During the semi-finals, Daniella choreographed the “Dark Fantasy” jazz routine. The dance earned them a score of 38 out of 40. The judges once again praised them for incorporating incredible lifts into the dance, which had become their signature move.

In a post on Instagram, Daniella expressed how excited she was to be nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Choreography for Variety or Reality Programming. She thanked Dancing With The Stars for giving her the opportunity to create the dances, writing, “I still can not believe this is real. @dancingwiththestars thank you for giving your dancers and choreographers a platform where they can express themselves and watch their creations come to life. Love you guys very much. ” Daniella went on to express her gratitude to everyone who supported her. She wrote, “To all, I can not get over your love and support. It brought me so much warmth knowing how many of you took the time out of your day to reach out and share this moment with me. I see you, appreciate you and send you guys so much love. Now I have to go get a dress. #emmybound #emmys. ”

Professional dancer Daniella is competing against some prestigious choreographers for this award. They include Sergio Trujillo who is nominated for his “Hard Knock Life,” “We Got Annie,” and “NYC” dances from Annie Live! Also included in the category is Fatima Robinson for her routine “Be Alive” from The Oscars. Parris Goebel is nominated for the opening routine of the Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 3. Finally, Daniella is nominated against her Dancing With The Stars co-star Derek Hough and choreographer Tessandra Chavez for their work on the dance “Roxanne” from Moulin Rouge which was part of the Step Into… The Movies With Derek and Julianne Hough television special.

Daniella’s Emmy nomination for Dancing With The Stars is much-deserved. Her work with Iman was especially impressive because he had no prior dance training. Daniella is a legend on the dance floor, and her win with Iman was one of the most exciting in the history of Dancing With The Stars.
