NBCNEWS – The evil of the new variant of Covid-19 in South Africa or South Africa has made Britain take decisive action.
The country on Thursday (25/11) on Thursday said it would ban travel from six countries in the southern African region.
“Initial indications we have of this variant may be more infectious than the Delta variant and the current vaccine may be less effective against it,” said Health Minister Sajid Javid.

Javid said the new variant, which South Africa has linked to a spike in cases and has also been detected in travelers from countries in Botswana and Hong Kong, has so far not been found in the UK.
But Javid said British scientists were “deeply concerned” and as a precaution a decision had suspended all flights from South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Zimbabwe and Botswana from 1200 GMT on Friday.

“We will require anyone arriving from those countries from 4am on Sunday to be quarantined in hotels,” he added.
Meanwhile, if anyone arrives before that, they must self-isolate at home and carry out a PCR test on the second and eighth day.

And if anyone comes from one of those countries during the last 10 days, we will ask them to do a PCR test.
