NBCNEWS – Biereth joined Arsenal from Fulham this summer. His performance with the U-23 team reportedly caught the attention of Mikel Arteta.

While a loan deal has been planned for the 18-year-old, Biereth may not get his chance in any of the domestic competitions in the near future.

We’ve rounded up everything you need to know about the young Arsenal striker who may soon be appearing in the first team.

#His career so far

Born in 2003, Biereth first caught the eye when he scored against Fulham. Biereth managed to score 21 goals in as many games, as well as providing 13 assists.

But, Fulham ended up losing against Manchester City in the final of the Under-18 Premier League and they failed to qualify for European football.

The Cottagers were then relegated from the Premier League, perhaps no surprise that Biereth caught the eye of the bigger fish. Arsenal finally signed the striker after he refused to extend his professional contract with Fulham.

The 18-year-old has reached his peak at Arsenal. In 12 PL2 appearances this season, Biereth has five goals and three assists which has caught Arteta’s eye.

Football London has reported that he will get the chance to train with the senior team, with Arsenal ready to give him the opportunity to join another club on loan in the 2022/2023 season. The plan is part of a project for Biereth to get regular opportunities in the first team.

Biereth has also received his first call-up to the Denmark Under-19s this season. He scored his first international goal in a win over Georgia in November 2021.

#Where does he play?

Although he is usually placed up front, Biereth is also capable of playing wide or as an attacking midfielder. He demonstrated the versatility to make him an asset to any Premier League club.

His goals against Chelsea this season show how good he is. Controlling a long pass from Florian Balogun, Biereth with an acrobatic shot flicked the ball past the goalkeeper.

The combination of athletic physique, composure and good improvisation made Biereth stand out among his peers.

Biereth has a goal scoring record that demands respect. He seems to have played more of a Balogun supporter for Arsenal this season.

Of course this is not a bad thing because it allows the young striker to develop his game more. According to one of the staff at Arsenal, Biereth’s link-up and hold-up game is already showing signs of improvement.

This shows how Biereth’s game has developed since joining Arsenal and his potential has not been fully explored.

#What did he say?

“To be honest, I’m not too hung up on statistics because I know strikers go through tough times,” he said in an interview with Arsenal’s official website in September 2021.

“I just go into every game and hope to score goals during the season. Those numbers are likely to continue to grow.”

“Sometimes you can go three or four games without scoring a goal, and end up with a hat-trick in the next game. I’m just trying to stay level-headed with it.”

“It’s funny because, even though I’m not very big on numbers, my dad definitely is. In fact, he keeps my stats since my first Sunday league game. He has stats in every way, even down to the percentage of goals I’ve scored.”

“He keeps an in-depth Excel spreadsheet of my games.”

#What are they saying?

“The recruitment team did an incredible job bringing him to the club and he is a player of fantastic character and attitude,” said Kevin Betsy, head coach of Arsenal’s youth squad.

“His willingness to work for the team is great, his movement to get space at the back is also very prominent in the game and he can finish it. He is a good finisher.”

After his sensational goal against Chelsea, a number of professional footballers praised Biereth on social media. Bayern Munich star Jamal Muisala commented ‘Done’.

Southampton’s Tino Livramento said: ‘Shut up on the top.
