NBCNEWS – The head of the Central Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit, Bernard Tambunan, is ready to deploy 500 members to anticipate the crowds at the 2022 Christmas and New Year (nataru) celebrations.
This deployment is effective from December 24, 2021 until January 2, 2022, PPKM level 3 applies in Jakarta.
“You will deploy as many as 500 members who will be spread over eight sub-districts throughout Central Jakarta,” he said when met by NBCNEWS, Wednesday (11/24).

He said that at the end of the year there will be five points that will be the focus of security.
“We will strictly guard Sudirman, Thamrin, HI Roundabout, Monas, Kemayoran,” he explained.

Bernard explained that for now, he is still waiting for regulations from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Mendagri) regarding PPKM Level 3 on Christmas and New Year.
If the regulation has been issued, it will immediately apply it in the region.

“We will carry out inspections of entertainment venues, restaurants, and crowded places.
