Two underage girls were raped by eight youths in rotation in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi. Not only that, they were also threatened with death and made sex slaves by the perpetrators.
As a result of the rape, both victims suffered severe trauma. One of the victims was even bleeding profusely, and had to be rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Kendari Deputy Chief of Police, Kompol Alwi, said that the eight youths had been detained by police officers. Consists of IA, I, RF, SJ, MW, MM, R, and AA. After being arrested, the young men were immediately identified as suspects.
“The rape case against two underage teenagers started with the victim’s introduction to the perpetrators on social media,” he told reporters on Monday.
He continued, when they were arrested, the eight youths were hanging out at a barbershop in Boro-boro Village, Ranomeeto District, South Konawe Regency. They were caught without a fight.
“Yes, so the method started with one of the suspects who met the victim on social media, which was followed by asking to meet somewhere, then taking turns being raped,” he continued.
In carrying out their actions, the perpetrators threatened to kill the two victims if they resisted and dared to tell the story.
“The depraved actions of the suspects were carried out 11 times against the first victim (14) and 19 times against the second (14) victim, in the period from September to October 2021,” he explained.
Furthermore, the young perpetrators of rape were thrown into prison. They were charged with Article 81 junto Article 76 of Law No. 23 of 2002 on Child Protection with a penalty of 15 years in prison.
