With such a large number of group members, it is not easy for Super Junior to survive this far. Many other idol groups disbanded no more than 10 years into the journey. How did Super Junior’s career journey to last more than a decade?

First debuted in 2005 with 12 members, then member last joined in 2006

Super Junior was first formed by producer Lee Soo Man of SM Entertainment. They first debuted with 12 member in 2005, followed by the presence of the last member, Kyuhyun, in 2006. The thirteen members were Leeteuk, Heechul, Han Geng, Yesung, Kangin, Shindong, Siwon, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Ryeowook, Kibum, and Kyuhyun. They have a lot of fans who are called by the name Ever Lasting Friends (ELF).

Has several subunits, including Super Junior KRY, D&E, to Super Junior-M

In the world of South Korean entertainment, having a subunit within an idol group is now commonplace. However, it was Super Junior who started the trend of forming this subunit. In the early days of their debut, they divided their members into several subunits. The first subunit, Super Junior KRY, consists of Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, and Yesung specifically to bring genre songs ballads.

Another subunit, Super Junior T, consists of Leeteuk, Heechul, Kangin, Sungmin, Shindong, and Eunhyuk performing songs with the genre of trot. Furthermore, to promote in China, they formed Super Junior M (Mandarin). Finally, the subunit that still exists today is Super Junior D & E, which consists of Donghae and Eunhyuk.

Received many awards and had his own series of worldwide concerts called Super Show

Since its debut, Super Junior has won many national and international awards. Some of the prestigious awards they received were the Golden Disk Award, the prestigious South Korean music award, the MTV Asia Award, and the World Music Award. With their fans spread all over the world, they regularly perform touring concerts called Super Show.

After 4 members left for various reasons, Super Junior stayed with 9 member

At the age of two, Super Junior’s journey is certainly full of twists and turns. In 2009, Han Geng sued the agency SM Entertainment which resulted in him leaving Super Junior. Ki Bum in 2009 also left member others for reasons that were only discovered long after he had decided to leave. Kangin, had several legal cases until he finally decided to leave the group.

Finally, after Super Junior’s hiatus for several years, Sungmin finally left the group due to the announcement of his marriage. Currently, they are holding out with nine members. In celebration of their 16th debut, on Friday (11/5) they gathered together and greeted their fans. They convey the hopes of each member, one of which is the desire to hold a Super Show back offline.

With all its achievements, Super Junior deserves to be called King of Hallyu Wave Yes, SoHip? Hopefully Super Junior can continue to accompany ELF and grant his wish to hold a Super Show return.
